Obviously!

We had Family Home Evening the other night and were talking about the plan of salvation.  Afterward, I was asking the kids questions and I said "Erin, what do we need to do to get to the Celestial Kingdom?"  Erin thinks for a minute and says "Travel?"

Hopefully it will sink in one day right?

Jazz Game

Cameron got tickets from his work to go to the Jazz Knicks game last night.  They were tickets for Row B, right behind the game announcers.  In fact, I accidently kicked Matt Harpring in the bottom a couple of times.  We were right up close and got to see the coaches fighting and hear what they were saying, got to see the players come wipe their feet off or check in or out right in front of us.  We could have stood up and touched them.  The tickets also came with a dinner before the game, drinks brought to us during the game and dessert at halftime.  They also had bowls of nuts and candy and snacks that you could snack on all during the game.  I'm not a big basketball fan, but it was really really fun.  We sat and watched these guys play and we each had our own TV to watch the game and replays on too.  It was a really fun night.

Butter Watch Out

Erin came upstairs to tell me Owen needed help getting off the counter, what she neglected to mention was that the reason he couldn't get down is because he had been playing in the butter and now it was all over the place.

Little Erin Annie

We have been reading The Magic Treehouse books here at our house.  The kids LOVE them.  We read them every night before bed.  They are books about kids Jack and Annie who go to different time periods and have adventures.  We're on the fifth book and the kids have just eaten them up.  Jack has a backpack and glasses, and Annie carries the flashlight and is more of the impulsive one.  Erin and Liam play like they are Jack and Annie all the time.  Liam gets his backpack on and Erin dresses up like this and carries the flashlight and they have adventures.  Thank you Mary Pope Osborne for writing these books and sparking my kids' imaginations.

Oh Poop!!

This post is not for the faint of heart.  The pictures are disgusting.  There is your warning. 

We were making breakfast and doing our usual Saturday things one morning and Owen was playing in the playroom.  He yelled in that he needed his diaper changed so I said "Okay, just a minute bud!"  He kept playing and I forgot.  Great, I know.  So he comes out into the kitchen saying "Ew, Wet Mom!"  Oh yes, I remember, I need to change his diaper.  So I say "Cameron, can you change him please?"  Sure.  Cameron takes him to be changed.  Then I hear a very disgusted "EEEWWW!!! Babe, come here!"  I walked in and saw this.

It was all over the place!  I had to undress him in the tub and give him a bath and then another one.  It doesn't look as bad as it was.  I've had really messy diapers before, but this one takes the cake. 

Family Fun

The kids were playing so nice together one night and started getting a little silly.  Broke out the camera and got some fun pictures.

Owen got these army guys for Christmas and he is in love with them.  He sets them up all over the place.  So glad he has an imagination!

Oh Deer

I was sleeping peacefully one morning when I was shaken awake by Cameron saying "Come here!!  You have to come see this!  And bring the camera!"  So I shuffle downstairs and look out the window where he is looking and there is a big buck just sitting in our yard like he owns the place!  Crazy.  I tried to get some pictures through the window, but they didn't turn out the best, so I went outside to take pictures.  He was a little leery at first, but calmed down until I moved a little closer.  Then he got up and walked around and would look at me and stomp his hooves and bow his head a little.  I was praying that I didn't die being gored by a deer.  It was a little scary.  Then he jumped the fence and was off.  Eat your heart out Uncle Clark!!

Christmas 2010

I did not do well at taking pictures this year for Christmas.  We got it all on video, but no pictures.  So Christmas Eve will have to do.  We went to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law's home and hung out, ate, did a little karioke, acted out the nativity and just enjoyed the company.  It was a fun time.  Christmas morning came and the kids got a bunch of art stuff, mostly.  They love drawing and cutting and pasting, so we got them each a ream of paper, a clipboard to bring to church with us to draw on and each got his/her own pencils, scissors, crayons, etc.  We also got each a 3 ring binder to put all their drawings in so they can be saved and not all over my house, eventually ending up in the trash.  It was a nice Christmas.  I think everyone had a good time.

This is our Christmas eve family picture.  The best one of the bunch, if you can believe it.  I look tired, Liam looks bored, Reagan didn't want to have her picture taken and Owen is right there, front and center!  At least Erin and Cameron look good right?

Christmas Trees

This year we got to go out to Vernal for Thanksgiving and one of the traditions we have when we go out there is to go get a tree from the mountain.  Owen was sick and Reagan was sleepy, so Owen, Reagan and I stayed home while Dad, Liam and Erin went up with the family to pick out the perfect tree, complete with hot chocolate and treats.

Christmas Preparations

We had fun trying to get in the Christmas spirit this year.  We sang songs, talked about Jesus, decorated cookies, went to see lights both at temple square and at Layton park, which was really fun.  One of our favorite traditions this year was reading a Christmas book every night before bed.  The kids took turns picking which book and they all loved sitting and listening to different Christmas stories.  I didn't get pictures of any of those things, though, just the lights at temple square.  It was crazy with the four kids, but they really had fun.

This is what they liked best of all.  Throwing snow into the fountains and watching it melt.  We spent the most time here.  Go figure.
