Now That the Holidays are Over

I am finally getting around to updating our blog.  We had a fun time looking forward to Christmas.  We watched a lot of fun Christmas movies, and tried to read a Christmas story every night.  I went to the store and bought these individual gingerbread houses that looked fun.  I recommend never, never doing this.  They were pretty awful.  They didn't stay together at all.  We had to hurry and take these pictures and just afterward, they all collapsed.

 Erin's roof is falling off already.  Ahhh!

 Owen was just happy to be there and making a mess.

 

Liam did pretty good decorating his own.  He just didn't have enough patience for the frosting (gross, gloppy sticky glue) to dry.

We also went to temple square to see the lights.  Here is my advice to everyone.  Go right when it is getting dark.  We got there at 5:00 pm, just as it was getting dark, and we had the whole place to ourselves.  We had lots of nice people offer to take our pictures.  We were done by 6:00 and that's when it was just starting to get busy.  Perfect timing.

 

I wanted to do pictures for the Grandmas for Christmas.  They didn't turn out how I wanted them to though, so you'll have to wait Grandmas.  Sorry.  We did get some cute pictures though.

 Kids in front of our Christmas tree.  Which, by the way, was our very first big Christmas tree we got to get.  We were pretty excited.  In other years, we've been in smaller places, so we've just used our little 3 foot tree.  It was fun to have a nice, big one this year.

 

 

Then it was Christmas.  We really didn't get too many pictures this year.  Probably because we were videoing a lot of it.  The kids each asked for one "big" thing from Santa and Liam got Dr. Dreadful's lab where you make zombie-ish stuff and then can eat or drink it.  (We've already made zombie throw-up.  It was pretty disgusting because it was real looking.)  Erin asked for Jessie from Toy Story and Owen asked for a monster truck.  Reagan didn't care so she didn't get much.  It was a fun day.  The kids were sick.  Reagan was on antibiotics for two ear infections and Owen and Erin were coughing all over the place, but they had fun.

We also had a fun party with Cameron's side of the family.  His brother and his family drove in from Oklahoma.  It was really fun to see them.  We took family pictures since everyone was there.  Below is the silly one of everyone.

 

 

 The kids got to see cousins that they haven't seen in over a year, and cousins they get to see more often.

 Cameron's family took Trax to the Train Museum.  Reagan was sick, so I stayed home with her.  Cameron said they had a lot of fun, both on the train, and at the museum.

We had a fun Christmas and then for New Years, the kids were still sick, so we just stayed home, ate cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, made our own individual pizzas and each child got to pick a game they wanted to play with the family.  We put on some music and ate and played.  They really had fun.  Next up, Owen's birthday!
