Catch Up

We have been busy at our house with end of school happenings.  Two of my children's teachers are leaving the school this year.  Sad about Owen's, happy for Erin's.  Erin's teacher is excited to retire.

We had a birthday in April.  Liam turned 10 years old.  He is excited to be in the double digits.  He's a pretty low maintenance kid.  He just wanted mods for his computer game and a new watch.  He didn't want a cake cake either.  He wanted donuts.  So this is what we did.

He loved it and so did the rest of the family.

Here's our 10 year old.  What a good boy he is.  He has been trying so hard to be kinder to his younger siblings.  He does a good job.  This summer we are going to work on not playing video games quite so much and playing the piano.

Guess who wasn't happy to be there?  I can't even remember why he was mad.

Liam was in his 4th grade program.  He was a pioneer who came across the plains and died on the way out.  Here he is dead.

He also had to dance with a GIRL!  He was not very happy about it.  Here he is feeling embarrassed and disgruntled about the whole touching a girl thing.

Erin also had a little program.  It was a talent show.  She decided to do a magic trick.  She did a card trick.

She asked for a volunteer and had him pick a card and put it in the middle of the deck.  Then she went through the deck and told him what his card was.

We have also been working on getting our garden in.  I just wanted a reminder picture of our before.  We spent a lot of time digging flagstone and cinder block out of this area.

But look at it now!!  We planted tomatoes, corn, carrots, watermelon, pumpkins, peas and cucumbers.  All our cucumbers died, so we have to go get some more.  Everything else is doing pretty well though.  I'm excited for the yummy stuff we'll get (hopefully) this year.
