We've done lots of fun things this summer. I didn't bother taking pictures because I didn't want to lug my camera all over. We had fun going to the Kids Movie Club this summer with friends. We got to see a movie and eat popcorn every week in the theatre. We swam in our pool, had Webelos Camp, game nights playing No Bears are Out Tonight, jumped on the trampoline, swung on swings, had friends over most every day, and lots of other fun stuff. We decided to send summer off with a bang the last week so Monday we went to Cherry Hill and had fun in the water. All of the kids loved the waterslides except Reagan. She went down one and was done. She didn't even want to go down the small slide into the wading pool. Tuesday we went to the temple open house and had a street party in front of our house. The open house was nice, the temple was beautiful, and the kids, for the most part, liked it. Erin was a little bored. We always look forward to our street party. The neighborhood comes together and we eat and visit. This year we had the police come with their Mobile Command Unit and the SWAT truck. The kids got to take tours of them and the chief talked to us about community safety. The teenagers decided our lawn was the lawn to play soccer on, so we had a soccer game going all night. It was fun to talk to those we don't get to visit with usually. Wednesday we went to Lagoon. We didn't tell the kids we were going and surprised them when we pulled in the parking lot. They had so much fun. Reagan was scared to go on anything. She did end up liking the Sky Ride and the Ferris Wheel. I was kind of sad this year because I got a little dizzier than normal on the rides. Must mean I'm getting old. Thursday was back to school night and we met the kids' new teachers. I think it will be a fun year for them.
Friday was Reagan's birthday. She is now four going on sixteen. She thinks she's just as big as her older brothers and sister and knows how to throw a sad face around so they give her what she wants. She got some money from Grandma and Grandpa and she was asking me the other day where her "cash" was. She thinks she's so grown up.
She wanted a real magic wand and a real dog for her birthday, and got neither. She did get a couple of ninja turtles things because she loves them.
This is her cash register. I got it because she plays store all the time. She brings everything out of her room and strings it all over the living room. She then sits with her box, which is her register, and her marbles, which is money, and asks us all to come buy something from her. She's loved having a "real" register. She always says "Fank you ma'am. Come see me again."
My sister found this dollhouse at a yard sale and asked if Reagan would like it. I told her to get it for her. It came with a couple of items of furniture, but I made most of the stuff to furnish it. It has been sitting in the living room since her birthday and all the kids love it. Liam even plays with it. It is his zombie apocalypse staging area. The bars for the elevator shaft are fireman poles that his soldiers slide down.
Reagan decided she wanted a "round, chocolate cake that is brown with lots of snakes on top". The snakes are made out of colored Tootsie rolls. Big shout out to Julie and fam for making them for us!! Reagan loved her cake.
Since Erin's birthday is over Labor Day weekend and no one was going to be around, we celebrated a week early with her friends. She wanted to have a party at a trampoline park, so that's what we did.
They had fun jumping into the foam pits, playing dodgeball, climbing the rock wall and practicing their moves on the trampolines.
I love this picture of Reagan with Cameron. She is so excited. She had lots of fun.
After we jumped, we had cake, ice cream and opened presents. She really had a fun time.
Ethan was feeling sad, so I was trying to make him smile. It didn't work.
