Surgeries and such

Owen and Erin both had a space between their teeth caused by their frenulum, the thing that connects your upper lip to your gums. Their frenulum came down right between their front teeth, thus making a gap. Like David Letterman. We went into the ENT to see if they needed it clipped. Yes, yes, they did. So last Wednesday we went to the hospital and they both had minor surgery and had their lips clipped. They have done remarkably well, actually. Erin was a little grouchy that day, but other than that, they've done fine. They have what looks like big canker sores in their mouths from the cauterizing. Counting surgeries for all my kids, that makes six surgeries all together so far. We're totally going for the record!

The day before, Liam and Owen had their checkups. They both had to get shots. My cute Liam got his Kindergarten shots. How did he get old enough to go to kindergarten? I was commenting to Cameron the other day how at Owen's stage, their personality starts to really come out and now at Liam's stage, it starts to develop. It's fun to see Liam figure things out on his own. He's been into math lately, adding numbers and telling us what 4+4 is or 6+6 or various other math problems. He's starting to learn the hard lesson of being nice to friends or they don't want to play with you. He's very thoughtful too. The other day he wrote a letter to our mail lady and left it in the mailbox thanking her for delivering the mail. She was so nice she gave him a card thanking him. He was so excited to get mail. We have such good kids. I feel so blessed to have them!
